I've noticed this Tag on quite a few YouTube and Twitter accounts recently, so have decided to take part as I really need a big kick up the bum on the non fiction reading front! I have these great plans each year that I'm going to broaden my horizons on the reading front, and then fail every year!! So this seems like a good plan to try and get me to focus a little more!
While looking into this Tag I found out that there is such a thing as 'National Non-Fiction Day'!
National Non-Fiction Day 2017
National Non-Fiction Day is observed on November 02, 2017. National Non-Fiction Day (NNFD) is annual celebration of children's non-fiction in the UK. It was initiated by The Federation of Children's Book Groups in partnership with Scholastic Children's Books and is celebrated across the UK each year on the first Thursday in November. The day is used by libraries, schools, literacy organisations, book reviewers and parents to highlight the best information and narrative non-fiction books for children, and to show how it's not just fiction that can be read and enjoyed for pleasure. Each year there is a different theme to the day. (With material from: Wikipedia) This text has been taken from www.cute-calendar.com
See! You learn something new everyday!! So without further ado, here's my rather ambitious TBR pile for November! I'm not silly enough to think I'll get through all of these but the plan is to at least read two of them.... check back here in a months' time to see if I achieve this or not!!
Told you it was rather ambitious!! But a few of these have been on the shelves for far too long so this is the push in the right direction that I need to start them!!
Who doesn't love Nigel?! I've always loved reading about Monty in relation to gardening, and know what his pets have meant to him over the years, so am really looking forward to this one!
Received this recently, and the more that I've read over the past few years, the more I've become interested in all the authors that there have been over the decades and are now longer heard of or have disappeared from the shelves. Hoping to find some new authors to rediscover and add to my own shelves!!
Another book about books!! Who'd have thought it?!! This just looks like another one of those books full of weird and wonderful facts about the bookish world that we all love so much! And the cover is rather gorgeous too!!
What could be more fascinating than to study humans! What we were, what we've become and what will happen to us all? Bought these as a pair as they've recieved some amazing reviews
Will you be taking part in Non-Fiction November?! What do you think of my reading choices? I really hope that this challenge excites you as much as it has me!!
