Crikey a Bodyguard

She’s got the brains, he’s got the muscle …

When Kelly Bridge’s parents insist on employing a bodyguard for her protection, she’s not happy.
Okay, so maybe not every woman is on the cusp of developing a vaccine against a potential
biological terrorist attack – but crikey, it’s not like she’s a celebrity!
Ben Jacobs flunked spectacularly out of school, so he knows his new client Dr Kelly Bridge spells
trouble for him. But on a conference trip to Rome he finds things are worse than he thought. Not
only is he falling for the brilliant scientist, he’s also become horribly aware she’s in grave danger. As
they go on the run, dodging bullets and kidnappers, can he resist his feelings and keep her safe?

A former pharmacist, I’m now a medical writer who also writes romance. Some days a racing
heart is a medical condition, others it’s the reaction to a hunky hero.
With two teenage boys and a husband who asks every Valentine’s Day whether he has to
buy a card (yes, he does), any romance is all in my head. Then again, his unstinting support
of my career change proves love isn't always about hearts and flowers - and heroes come in
many disguises.

When your parents hire a bodyguard to protect you, then you know things are getting serious! And that is the situation Kelly finds herself in as she works on a very important vaccine, and what follows is a thrilling and fast paced story that I thoroughly enjoyed!

Kelly is very focused on her work, and coming from a family of scientists, her parents are well aware of the importance of her projects.  So when she gets the feeling that she is being watched and followed, her parents don't want to take any chances and hire Ben to work as her bodyguard.  She is not ready for the constant surveillance so it takes some getting used to!

Ben takes his own work very seriously too and will leave nothing to chance while he's working for her.  It helps that they click on a personal level too, and the more time they spend together, the more the bond grows between them!

And despite his protection there seems to be someone determined to get to Kelly, and the action really heats up and puts them both in danger and it got my blood pumping with the suspense!

It really mixes the romance aspect well with the action, and allows you to get to know both characters pretty well - they have both lived such different lives but have a respect for one another and the work that they both do, and that really helps you understand the issues they have initially working with one another, Kelly in particular! She doesn't want to be the damsel in distress, but soon realises her work places her on the radar of people who will go to extreme measures to get her out of the way.

A fabulous read - Crikey it's good!!
